Dr. Carliana Carpenter or Dr. CC as we call her here at Cafe of Life, is an Ocean Beach native who is ecstatic to have recently moved back to the beach from the Bay Area.
Experience & Passion
Dr. CC has had nurturing qualities since a young age and a strong love for kiddos since she started babysitting at age eleven. During high-school, she babysat for multiple families and during her undergrad at UC Santa Cruz, she worked with youth of all ages in various art organizations. In 2009 she lived in New York City and interned for a Non-profit art organization that worked with at-risk youth providing them summer jobs mural painting in Harlem.
Professional Achievements
The minute she started her doctorate program at Life West Chiropractic College, Dr. CC knew that she wanted to work with families and specialize in pregnancy and pediatrics. Dr. CC had many pediatric patients in her school clinic and worked with an abundance of kiddos while traveling to Malinalco, Mexico, and Mumbai, India on Chiropractic Mission trips. She is Webster Certified, is a member of the ICPA, and is only a few steps away from completing her advanced certification in pediatrics, pregnancy, and family care. Dr. CC has been with the Cafe of Life community since 2018 and loves working with all of the wonderful families.
Dr. CC has a wide range of techniques to help with various ailments, from gentle techniques to more force. She knows what is needed and when. She strongly believes that every body is different and is passionate about working with each patient and finding what type of adjustments each individual responds to best. She’s a great communicator and knows how to get to the root of your health challenges.

Dr.CC and Dr. Steph met years ago through a mutual friend and instantly knew they wanted to practice together! Dr. CC currently sees her own patients in addition to practicing alongside Dr. Steph and they love working together!!
She takes after her parent's love of classic rock and her “happy place” is listening to live music. She loves going to live shows with her family and friends or her partner Scott. Scott and CC love being active and going on adventures. They are often fishing, hiking, traveling, or beach hopping up the coast. CC swears that the key to happiness is to never stop adventuring:) Her parents also live in Ocean Beach only a few blocks away from her and Scott. Her mother Marialy is from Cuba and her father John is from Washington state, he started the first drive-through coffee cart in San Diego “Bean Me Up”, check him out! He makes a great latte!
